This is a more liberal (yet still western) observation of Russia's cultural issues with the LGBT community, in light of their Anti-Gay Propaganda law. This video does not represent all of Russia's regards towards LGBT, but it does highlight some of the most extreme and common cases of vigilante violence against them. My family is Russian so I'm aware that not all Russians are anti-gay, and a lot of youth are pretty accepting of the LGTBQ community...however, this law introduces an excuse and prompt to the many vigilantes who are homophobic.
Because I love my friends, I last-minute edited their video for them. Oh…and then they shot me. Special thanks to all of my friends who participated in the video and made this happen :) You guys rock. A Walk Into Beautiful is a collection of my woodsy photography, set to and inspired by Steve Roggenbuck's poem Somewhere In the Bottom of the Rain.
